How do you handle being sick?
Hi weight_comp friends, I have a question for you. I struggle maintaining a workout schedule when I'm sick, and I also struggle with eating healthily. I am battling a sinus infection with every tool I have and it's kicking my butt! Sometimes with a mild cold or bad allergies, a workout will leave me feeling better, but not always.

So how do you handle being sick? Do you work out when you're sick?

I'm terrible at being sick, and I'm battling something right now that feels like a head cold, except today I work up with lymph nodes in pain, and kinda achy. Hoping I don't have the flu already :/

I'm going to try to maintain will power long enough to buy some vegetable soup at the grocery store for lunch, instead of gluten free ravioli, which I've been eating the last few days, since I feel like crap and it's a comfort food. I recently went vegan, so the cheese is probably making things worse...

as for an exercise routine, I usually try to just rest, but I do struggle with getting back into it once I feel better. Sorry I don't have better advice!

good luck.

Veggie soup, yum! I too notice a big difference in how the quality of my nutrition affects my recovery time and general wellbeing when I'm sick. I had some homemade soup that really hit the spot last week, maybe I should make some more.

I think the worst part about taking time off is feeling I've lost important strength/endurance gains!

I try to keep up my workout routine unless I'm really physically incapable but I'm a glutton for punishment, lol.

Heh :) Early on with this cold I was totally in that mindframe, maybe I've just lost my willpower after dealing with it for so long! Ugh.

Argh sorry you're poorly!

I am another one who is terrible at being ill. I automatically veer into self-pity and wallowing which is SO not helpful! Generally I won't do much working out when I am sick but it depends what I have really. If I have a fever I might find it helpful to go for a walk in the cooler air, but if I have the chills I don't want to venture out. When I am sick I usually have much less energy so I think I can't work out but it is probably work trying to motivate myself to give it a bash.

I do find that having a sore throat when I'm ill has one great side-effect - it increases my water intake dramatically!

Feel better soon :)
